Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi hosts Donation Ceremony for Earthquake-Affected Communities in Myanmar (7-4-2025, New Delhi)
A donation handover ceremony was held at the Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi on April 7, 2025, with the presence and blessings of the Most Venerable Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Ñāṇissara, Chief Abbot of the Kusinara Myanmar Monastery, who holds esteemed Buddhist titles including Abhidhaja Mahā Raṭṭha Guru, Abhidhaja Aggamahā Saddhammajotika, Aggamahā Saddhammajotikadhaja, and Aggamahā Paṇḍita. The ceremony was organized to support the communities affected by the powerful earthquake that struck central Myanmar on March 28, 2025.
The event commenced with the recitation of “Namo Tassa” three times, followed by a Dhamma blessing delivered by Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Ñāṇissara. Subsequently, H.E. Mr. Zaw Oo, Ambassador of Myanmar to India, delivered welcome remarks, providing an update on the current situation in the earthquake-affected areas, the ongoing international humanitarian assistance, and notably the support from the Government of India. He highlighted the longstanding friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Myanmar and India, and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the solidarity shown during this difficult time by both the Indian public and Myanmar nationals residing in India, including monks, nuns, and laypeople. He emphasized that such assistance reflects not only the strong ties between the two governments but also the deep people-to-people bonds between the nations.
Following that, video footage was presented showing the destruction of infrastructure—including homes, buildings, religious sites, and roads and bridges—in the earthquake-affected areas, followed by a one-minute silence in remembrance and mourning.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador received the donated relief items and funds from various donors and presented certificates of appreciation to them. Group photographs were taken to mark the occasion. The event concluded with a note of thanks from the Ambassador, followed by the serving of light refreshments and snacks to donors and distinguished guests.
Donations were made by Indian businesspeople, social organizations, schools, philanthropic donors, and Myanmar Buddhist monasteries across India. Contributions included monetary aid, food items, medicines, consumer goods, warm clothing, and blankets.

အခမ်းအနားကို နမောတဿ သုံးကြိမ်ရွက်ဆို၍ ဖွင့်လှစ်ခဲ့ပြီးနောက် ကုသိနာရုံ ဆရာတော်ကြီး ဒေါက်တာဘဒ္ဒန္တ ဉာဏိဿရမှ သြဝါဒ မိန့်ခွန်းပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။ ဆက်လက် ၍ အိန္ဒိယနိုင်ငံဆိုင်ရာ မြန်မာသံအမတ်ကြီး ဦးဇော်ဦးက ငလျင်ဘေးသင့် ပြည်သူများ၏ အခြေအနေ၊ နိုင်ငံတကာ၏ လူသားချင်းစာနာထောက်ထားမှုဆိုင်ရာ အကူ အညီများ ပေးအပ်နေ သည့်အခြေအနေ၊ အထူးသဖြင့် အိမ်နီးချင်း အိန္ဒိယအစိုးရမှ အကူ အညီပေးအပ် နေမှုတို့နှင့် စပ်လျဉ်း၍ ရှင်းလင်းပြောကြားခဲ့ပြီးနောက် မြန်မာ-အိန္ဒိယ နှစ်နိုင်ငံ ပြည်သူများအကြား ရင်းနှီး ချစ်ခင်မှု၊ စာနာနားလည်မှုတို့သည် အမြစ်တွယ်နေသည်မှာ အချိန်ကာလကြာမြင့်ပြီဖြစ်သည့် အားလျော်စွာ ယခုကဲ့သို့ မြန်မာပြည်သူများ ဒုက္ခကြုံတွေ့နေချိန်တွင် အိန္ဒိယပြည်သူများနှင့် အိန္ဒိယနိုင်ငံရောက် မြန်မာပြည်သူများ၊ ရဟန်း၊ သံဃာနှင့် သီလရှင်များက ဝိုင်းဝန်းကူညီ လှူဒါန်းကြသည့်အပေါ် ဝမ်းမြောက်မိကြောင်း၊ နှစ်နိုင်ငံ အစိုးရချင်းသာမက ပြည်သူများအကြား ကောင်းမွန်သည့် ဆက်ဆံရေးကို ထင်ဟပ်စေပါကြောင်းဖြင့် ပြောကြားခဲ့ပါသည်။
ထို့နောက် မြေငလျင်ဘေးသင့်သည့် ဒေသများတွင် လူနေအိမ်များ၊ အဆောက် အအုံများ၊ ဘာသာရေးအဆောက်အအုံများနှင့် လမ်းတံတားများ ပြိုကျပျက်စီးမှုများကို ဗွီဒီယိုမှတ်တမ်းဖြင့် ပြသခဲ့ပြီး ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်း အထိမ်းအမှတ်အဖြစ် တစ်မိနစ်ငြိမ်သက်ခဲ့ ကြပါသည်။
အခမ်းအနားတွင် သံအမတ်ကြီးက အလှူရှင်များ၏ လှူဒါန်းပစ္စည်းများနှင့် လှူဒါန်းငွေ များအား လက်ခံခဲ့ပြီးနောက် ဂုဏ်ပြုမှတ်တမ်းလွှာများ ပြန်လည်ပေးအပ်ကာ မှတ်တမ်းတင် ဓါတ်ပုံရိုက်ခဲ့ကြပါသည်။ ထို့နောက် သံအမတ်ကြီးက ကျေးဇူးတင်စကား ပြောကြားခဲ့ပြီး တက် ရောက်လာသည့် အလှူရှင်များနှင့် ဧည့်သည်တော်များအား မုန့်များဖြင့် တည့်ခင်းဧည်ခံကာ အခမ်းအနားအား ရုပ်သိမ်းခဲ့ပါသည်။
